Porsche 911 turned 50 and More Powerful than Ever

While the first Porsche 911 rolled out of production on , half a century ago, you can certainly it has aged well. On the contrary, over the years the iconic sport car has become more polished and powerful. This happen through a series of changes, which will talk about in today's Brian Harris Porsche blog.

Over the last 50 years, the Porsche 911 has alternately gained and lost some weight, increase and reduced in size and when from water to air cooling, but one thing remain the same: its shape. The main changed is however is the progressive increase in power to the point that actual version of the car is faster than turbocharged of previous year models.

Let's take for example the current Porsche 991 series. It is equipped with a smaller engine of 3.4 and 3.8 liters, has gowned 56 mm in length with a wider footprint and has lost 50 kg thanks to aluminum used in the frame. Add to that, sleeker front headlights, narrower light in the back and this version compiles the greatest amount of changes in a single model.
